Professional Diploma in Property Management

This programme aims to provide learners with practical knowledge in property management so as to enhance their professional development in the specific setting of property management environment. Upon completion of the programme, graduates will be equipped for the licensing system and professional requirement in the property management sector. This programme was accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) at Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 4 (Specifications of Competency Standards (SCS)). Also, this programme has been included in the list of reimbursable course for Continuing Education Fund (CEF) purposes.

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for teaching / programme management for Professional Diploma in Property Management. Standard Chinese is used as a medium of instruction.

Appointment Criteria

For posts of lecturer grades, applicants should have (i) an earned and recognised Master’s degree in relevant disciplines; and (ii) relevant teaching / professional experience.

Formerly known as Caritas Francis Hsu College (CFHC), Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE) commenced its operations in 1985. This interdisciplinary programme aims to nurture future entrepreneurs in the field of design business. Graduates of BEMDB are expected to become entrepreneurs in their own design businesses or secure successful employment as management trainees or in other project/brand/segment start-up positions in the design or creative industry.

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for teaching at the degree and/post-graduate levels in more than one of the related areas, undertake scholarly/research activities and/or programme administration.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have (a) a PhD degree or other recognised Doctoral degree in relevant discipline; and (b) relevant teaching/professional experience. Preference will be given to those with good teaching record in degree/postgraduate programmes/experience in programme management and accreditation/proven research record.

Applicants may be considered at the rank at Associate Professor or above depending on research record, experience and qualifications. For appointment of Senior Lecturers, holders of Master’s degree with professional membership in Hong Kong or overseas will be considered as appropriate for the particular disciplines.

A good command of English is required and proficiency in Chinese is preferable.

Applicants should have (i) an earned and recognized Master’s degree and/or above in relevant disciplines; (ii) at least 5 years of full time managerial industry experiences in relevant areas are required; and (iii) relevant teaching / professional experience in the field of real estate, surveying, housing, property and facilities management are essential.

Preference will be given to those with formal teacher training (e.g PGDE / PGCE) with teaching experience in sub-degree/degree programmes. Professional registration in Hong Kong or overseas is required as appropriate for the particular profession.

Student Affairs Officer (Registered Social Worker/Counsellor) (Ref.: 21/004/SAO/SWCR)

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for (a) assisting in the administration and implementation of various student services, student development programmes and workshops; (b) individual case and group counselling; (c) leadership training programmes and SEN training programmes; (d) student life crisis management and special referral; (e) student financial assistance and resources support; (f) mental health problem prevention and life style education; (g) self-understanding, self-esteem building and life adjustment activities; and (h) other duties as assigned.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should (a) have a recognized Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Master’s degree in Counselling, it would be an advantage with SEN and counselling training; (b) have Registered Social Worker license or a member of the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association; (c) have at least 3 years’ of relevant experience in case and group work for social service organization or school setting in Hong Kong; (d) have a mature and pleasant personality with good team spirit, communication skills and interpersonal relationship, be proactive in work and able to work independently, efficiently and responsibly; (e) have a good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); and (f) be proficient in computer skills.

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for (a) requirement collection and preparation of technical documentation; (b) design, programming, testing and maintenance of IT systems; and (c) undertaking other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Appointment Criteria

Laboratory Technician, School of Health Sciences (Ref.: 19/029/HDPD/LT)

Duties

Responsible for (i) performing regular maintenance of all facilities in the laboratories; (ii) maintaining the daily operation of the laboratories and managing the inventory of the facilities and equipment in the laboratories; and (iii) assisting academic staff in the delivery of teaching activities in the laboratories. The appointee may work under different schedules due to specific operational requirements, such as supervising laboratory classes scheduled for weekday evenings and weekends.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should (i) have a Higher Diploma or above in Pharmaceutical Dispensing, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or equivalent. Working experience in providing pharmacy service is preferred. (ii) be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua); and (iii) have good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and also the ability to work independently.
