Formerly known as Caritas Francis Hsu College (CFHC), Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE) commenced its operations in 1985. Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have (a) a PhD degree or other recognised Doctoral degree in relevant discipline; and (b) relevant teaching and professional experience. Preference will be given to those with good teaching record in degree programmes/experience in programme management and accreditation/proven research record.
Professional registration in Hong Kong or overseas is required as appropriate for the particular profession. A good command of English and Chinese is required. Applicants may be considered for the rank at Associate Professor depending on experience and qualifications.

- IT Applications in hospitality management and/or innovative industries

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for (a) teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; (b) initiating, leading and participating in research activities; (c) undertaking academic administration duties; and (d) performing any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School or her delegates.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have (a) a PhD degree or other recognised doctoral degree in Hospitality Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics or a relevant discipline; (b) at least 10 years of full time industry experiences in relevant areas are preferred; (c) substantial university teaching experience and an excellent portfolio of teaching in respective areas; (d) substantial managerial experience in IT infrastructure, applications, new technology trends and software development in hospitality industry and/or innovative industries; (e) demonstrated academic leadership in hospitality and tourism or innovative industries through research, awards of research grants, scholarship and/or high level of consultancy in respective areas; and (f) a track record of publication in internationally recognised journals in related areas with successful experience in research grant applications. Applicants with less experience of 5 years will be considered for appointment at the level of Associate Professor.

Professional Diploma in Property Management

This programme aims to provide learners with practical knowledge in property management so as to enhance their professional development in the specific setting of property management environment. Upon completion of the programme, graduates will be equipped for the licensing system and professional requirement in the property management sector. This programme was accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) at Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 4. Also, this programme has been included in the list of reimbursable course for Continuing Education Fund (CEF) purposes.

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for teaching a newly launched Professional Diploma in Property Management programme. Standard Chinese is used as a medium of instruction.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have (i) an earned and recognized Master’s degree and/or above in relevant disciplines; (ii) at least 5 years of full time managerial industry experiences in relevant areas are required; and (iii) relevant teaching / professional experience in the field of real estate, surveying, housing, property and facilities management are essential.

Preference will be given to those with formal teacher training (e.g PGDE / PGCE) with teaching experience in sub-degree/degree programmes. Professional registration in Hong Kong or overseas is required as appropriate for the particular profession.

Duties

Laboratory Technician, School of Health Sciences (Ref.: 19/029/HDPD/LT)

Duties

Responsible for (i) performing regular maintenance of all facilities in the laboratories; (ii) maintaining the daily operation of the laboratories and managing the inventory of the facilities and equipment in the laboratories; and (iii) assisting academic staff in the delivery of teaching activities in the laboratories. The appointee may work under different schedules due to specific operational requirements, such as supervising laboratory classes scheduled for weekday evenings and weekends.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should (i) have a Higher Diploma or above in Pharmaceutical Dispensing, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or equivalent. Working experience in providing pharmacy service is preferred. (ii) be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua); and (iii) have good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and also the ability to work independently.

Research/Project Positions

SEN Tutor (Ref.: 19/037/SEN/TA)


Duties

The appointee will be required to (a) assist the Head in providing training workshops; (b) provide individual or group academic coaching sessions on learning achievement skills; (c) assist the Head in organizing events related to building SEN caring culture; and (d) act as teaching assistant for academic staff who need teaching support for SEN students.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have (a) an earned and recognised Master's degree in Diverse Learning Needs or relevant disciplines, with SEN training; (b) at least 6 years’ post-qualification professional, teaching and administrative experience in respective industries/areas; and (c) proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
