Formerly known as Caritas Francis Hsu College (CFHC), Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE) commenced its operations in 1985. At present, CIHE has five academic schools which are responsible for offering programmes that are pitched at Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF) from Level 4 to Level 6.

The Rita Tong Liu School of Business and Hospitality Management (the School) prides itself in offering professional education in various disciplines of business studies (in both full-time and part-time modes), providing students with learning experiences that are aligned closely with industry trends and market needs, especially in the area of economic, business and technological developments. Our BBA (Hons) Programme, with 4 streams, Accountancy (AC), Corporate Management and Governance (CMG), Hotel Management (HM), Marketing and Event Management (MEM), aims to provide students with professional development, sound education and positive life values. The School has received professional recognition by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), CPA (Australia) and Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS). Our graduates in BBA (Hons) Accountancy and Corporate Management and Governance are granted equivalent exemption status as students of other local universities. Besides, the School launched in 2020/21 a Top-up programme, namely Bachelor of Entrepreneurial Management (Honours) in Design Business (BEMDB). This interdisciplinary programme aims to nurture future entrepreneurs in the field of design business. BEMDB graduates are expected to become entrepreneurs in their own design businesses or in other project/brand/segment start-up positions in the design or creative industry.

The School will launch the first CIHE’s Master’s programme (part-time mode) in January 2022, namely Master of Corporate Governance (MCG). This programme aims to enhance students’ career development as Company Secretaries or Corporate Governance Professionals.

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for (i) providing support to the Head of the Department in planning and developing the department, curriculum design, supervision of study programmes and overseeing the academic quality of programmes; (ii) liaising with external parties on matters concerning the study programmes/courses offered; (iii) coordinating and supervising the preparation of documents relating to course validation, revalidation and accreditation; (iv) attending meetings of various committees as required; and (v) performing any other duties as determined and assigned by the Head of the Department.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should (i) possess an earned and recognised Doctoral degree in relevant disciplines; (ii) have a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience and teaching experience at higher education level. Preference will be given to those with good teaching record and demonstrated ability to provide academic leadership and experience in the development and administration of higher education programmes in Hong Kong or overseas.

Applicants should have (a) a PhD degree or other recognised Doctoral degree in relevant discipline; and (b) relevant teaching/professional experience. Preference will be given to those with good teaching and research record in degree/postgraduate programmes/experience in programme management and accreditation/proven research record. (Relevant professional qualification is needed for teaching the Corporate Governance / Company Secretaryship)

Applicants may be considered at the rank at Associate Professor or above depending on research record, experience and qualifications. For appointment of Senior Lecturers, holders of Master’s degree with professional membership in Hong Kong or overseas will be considered as appropriate for the particular disciplines.

Professional Diploma in Property Management

This programme aims to provide learners with practical knowledge in property management so as to enhance their professional development in the specific setting of property management environment. Upon completion of the programme, graduates will be equipped for the licensing system and professional requirement in the property management sector. This programme was accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) at Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 4. Also, this programme has been included in the list of reimbursable course for Continuing Education Fund (CEF) purposes.

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for teaching a Professional Diploma in Property Management programme. Standard Chinese is used as a medium of instruction.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have (i) an earned and recognized Master’s degree and/or above in relevant disciplines; and (ii) relevant teaching / professional experience in property management. Preference will be given to those with teaching experience in sub-degree/degree programmes. Duties

The appointee will be required to (i) assist in updating the content of the library website and developing the online users’ guides; (ii) help maintain various library information systems, applications and databases; (iii) prepare statistical reports for supporting library planning and user services; (iv) provide IT-related services and support users in the use of library services, resources and facilities; (v) take up various library operational duties including circulation, enquiry and information services, shelving and collection maintenance; (vi) work at service counters on a regular shift basis, including evenings and weekends; and (vii) undertake other duties as assigned by the Librarian or his/her delegates.

Duties
