Duties

Duties

Laboratory Technician, School of Health Sciences (Ref.: 17/021/HDPD/LT)

Duties

Responsible for (i) performing regular maintenance of all facilities in the laboratories; (ii) maintaining the daily operation of the laboratories and managing the inventory of the facilities and equipment in the laboratories; and (iii) assisting academic staff in the delivery of teaching activities in the laboratories. The appointee may work under different schedules due to specific operational requirements, such as supervising laboratory classes scheduled for weekday evenings and weekends.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should (i) have a Higher Diploma or above in Pharmaceutical Dispensing, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or equivalent. Working experience in providing pharmacy service is preferred. (ii) be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua); and (iii) have good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and also the ability to work independently.

Director, Information Technology Services Centre (Ref.: 17/039/DITSC)

Duties

Responsible for (i) heading and managing the Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC); (ii) providing technical advice and assuming the overall control and planning of the various aspects of computer application in both teaching and administration; and (iii) supervising staff members of the Information Technology Services Centre with appropriate guidance, training and development.

Duties

The appointee is responsible for (i) providing administrative support to the fund-raising team, ensuring smooth donation transactions, issuing thank you letters, answering inquiries on donation transactions; (ii) managing fund-raising database, including data entry, record update, generating reports for data analysis; (iii) providing customer services to donors for acknowledgement, ensuring proper naming on facilities; and (iv) providing logistics support for fund-raising activities such as Parish visits, campus tours for donors, donor events etc.

Student Affairs Officer (Ref.: 17/053/SAO)

Duties

A mid-level position reporting to the Director of Student Affairs (DSA), the successful candidate will be responsible for (a) assisting the DSA in the administration and implementation of various student services and student development programmes; (b) acting as administrator to in-charge one or several areas of student affairs work such as career education and services, internship and placement, college life activities, interflow and study tours, student accommodation, student financial assistance, non-local students services and welfare services; (c) organising whole person development education and activities, for instance, student mentoring programme, learning enhancing programme, extra-curricular campus life activities, college life assembly, college-wide events, sports and cultural activities; (d) liaison with alumni and departments/ units to build up support systems and network in promoting and implementation of student development programmes; (e) in-house publications and student surveys, committees work and secretarial support, and office web information editing etc.

Applicants should have (a) a recognised Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education or related disciplines; (b) a minimum of three years’ post-qualification working experience in a related field; (c) a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, and office software applications; and (d) a mature and pleasant personality with good team spirit, communication skills and interpersonal relationship. Formal training in social work or counselling will be an asset but is not a must.

Assistant Librarian (Ref.: 17/059/ADMIN/AL)

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for (i) supervising a small team which is engaged in collection development and library information management; (ii) assisting in monitoring library budgets; (iii) formulating collection-building policies and cataloguing procedures; (iv) providing referencing and information-related services; (v) collating and analyzing statistical data and compiling regular reports used to inform decision-making; and (vi) performing any other tasks as assigned by the Librarian.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should (i) possess a recognized university degree and professional qualifications in librarianship (MLS or equivalent); (ii) have at least 3 years’ post-qualification relevant experience; (iii) have knowledge of acquisitions and cataloguing; (iv) have strong coordination, analytical and interpersonal skills; and (v) have excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

The appointee will be required to work shifts on evenings and at weekends. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Library Assistant (Ref.: 17/060/ADMIN/LA)

Duties

The appointee will be required to (i) work at service counters on a regular shift basis; including evenings and weekends; (ii) assist users in the use of library services, resources and facilities; (iii) assist in processing serials and the maintenance of bibliographic records; (iv) perform book shelving, shelf-reading and book removal if required; (v) answer general enquiries and provide clerical support; (vi) carry out other duties as assigned by the Librarian or his/her delegates.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have: (i) grade E or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (minimum Grade C or above for Syllabus A) OR minimum Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSE including English Language and Chinese Language, or a recognized Certificate / Diploma for Library Assistants; (ii) knowledge of any Integrated Library System and have good command of computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Chinese word processing; (iii) knowledge of MARC21, AACRII, RDA, DDC and LC; (v) good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably be fluent in Putonghua); (vi) the essential attributes of service-oriented work attitude and the ability to participate effectively in team work.
