Admission Requirements

Master’s Degree Programmes

Master of Corporate Governance

  1. Having a recognised degree in business-related or legal discipline (or its equivalent); OR
  2. Having a recognised degree in a non-business discipline (or its equivalent) with at least three years of supervisory/managerial experience*; OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

* Special Entry Route:
Applications of non-business degree holders with less than three years of supervisory/managerial experience will also be considered. Successful applicants are required to complete a Business Foundation Programme offered in the semester before commencement of the MCG Programme in September/January every academic year. A comprehensive examination will be held at the end of the Programme. Only students who pass the examination will be eligible to proceed to the MCG in September/January.

Year 1 Entry #

  1. Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language, Level 2 in Mathematics and Level 2 in Liberal Studies in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination; applicants' performance in two elective courses in the HKDSE Examination will be considered as bonus point in the selection process***; OR
  2. Have obtained passes in Chinese Language and Culture and Use of English and one additional AL / two ASL subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) plus five passes in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Year 2 Entry

  1. Have successfully completed an Associate Degree (AD) / Higher Diploma (HD) programme pitched at QF Level 4 that is approved by the Institute; OR
  2. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Year 3 Entry (Except the Social Work stream of the Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) programme)

  1. Have successfully completed an AD / HD programme in related areas pitched at QF Level 4 that is approved by the Institute; OR
  2. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Year 3 Entry (For the Social Work stream of the Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) programme ONLY)

  1. Have successfully completed a relevant AD / HD programme in Social Work with accumulative GPA of 2.7 or above; OR
  2. Have completed a programme in Social Work that is pitched at level 4 of the QF with accumulative GPA of 2.7 or above and is approved by the Institute; OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Translation Technology

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language, Level 2 in Mathematics and Level 2 in Liberal Studies in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination; OR
  2. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Year 2 Entry

Bachelor of Nursing (Honours)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language Level 2 in Mathematics, Level 2 in Liberal Studies and Level 2 in one elect ive subject from Category A (preferably Biology or Combined Science with Biology) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE); OR
  2. Have obtained passes in Chinese Language and Culture, Use of English plus one AL Level subject or two AS Level subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) AND have obtained Grade C in Chinese Language, Grade D in English Language (Syllabus B) (or Grade B in English Language (Syllabus A)), and Grade E in three other subjects (Biology/ Human Biology/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) before 2007; OR
    have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language and Grade E in three other subjects (Biology/ Human Biology/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) in 2007 to 2011; OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) (Part-time Top-up Programme)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have successfully completed an Associate Degree / Higher Diploma in health discipline that is pitched at Level 4 of the QF, OR
  2. Have successfully completed an Associate Degree / Higher Diploma in any discipline that is pitched at Level 4 of the QF PLUS one-year work experience in a health-related institution, organisation, or company, OR
  3. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) (Part-time Conversion Programme)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have completed a recognised AD / HD in Social Work AND have relevant professional practice experience.
  2. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Artificial Intelligence

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language, Level 2 in Mathematics and Level 2 in Liberal Studies in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination; OR

  1. Applicants who have successfully completed an AD / HD programme in relevant discipline pitched at QF Level 4 that is approved by the Institute; OR
  2. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 3 in Chinese Language, Level 3 in English Language, Level 2 in Mathematics, Level 2 in Liberal Studies and Level 2 in one elective subject from Category A (Preference will be given to applicants who have obtained Level 4 or above in English Language and Level 3 or above in Biology or Physics or Level 3 in Combined Science (Biology and Physics) in HKDSE); OR
  2. Have obtained passes in Chinese Language and Culture and Use of English and one additional AL / two ASL subjects in Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) plus five passes in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  3. Have obtained a minimum score of 24 in International Baccalaureate (IB) with at least grade 4 in 2 Higher Level (HL) subjects; AND satisfy the English Language requirement: A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOFEL) score of 80 or above for the Internet-based test or 550 or above for the paper-based test / an overall Band Score of 6 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) / Grade C or above in General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCEOL) English / Grade C/ 4 or above in General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE)/ International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) English / Grade 4 or above in English at IB / Grade E or above in HKASLE Use of English;
    AND satisfy the Chinese Language requirement: Grade 4 in IB Chinese Language subject / Grade E or above in GCE (A-Level/AS-Level) Chinese Language subject / Grade C/ 4 or above in GCE (O-Level)/ GCSE/ IGCSE Chinese Language subject; OR
  4. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

  4. Have completed a QF Level 3 programme that is approved by the Institute/College; OR
  5. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  6. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 2 in five subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the HKDSEE***; OR
  2. Have graduated from the Yi Jin Diploma; OR
  3. Have completed a QF Level 3 programme that is approved by the Institute; OR
  4. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  5. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Higher Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (General)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 2 or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language, Mathematics and any two other subjects in Categories A and B* in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination***; OR
  2. Have obtained Grade E or above in one AL / two ASL subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) plus five passes in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  3. Have graduated from the Diploma Yi Jin and have successfully completed the Math Plus elective course; OR
  4. Have reached the age of at least 21 on 1 September of the year of admission and have met the Minimum Entry Requirements for Training of Enrolled Nurses as stipulated by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong; OR
  5. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Higher Diploma in Music Studies

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 2 in five subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the HKDSE Examination***; OR
  2. Have graduated from the Yi Jin Diploma; OR
  3. Have obtained Grade E or above in one AL/two ASL subjects in the HKALE plus five passes in the HKCEE including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  4. Have completed a QF Level 3 programme that is approved by the College; OR
  5. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background (a mature applicant should have completed Secondary 5 schooling and passed the relevant entrance test(s)); OR
  6. Have obtained an equivalent qualification;
  1. AND
  2. Applicants should have attained Grade 6 in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Practical Examination, or equivalent level awarded by similar organizations, or approval after audition. A satisfactory result in HKDSE Music will be highly considered.

Higher Diploma in Pharmaceutical Dispensing (Full-time/ Part-time mode)

Year 1 Entry

  1. Have obtained Level 2 or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language, and preferably also in Mathematics, Liberal Studies and one science related subject in the HKDSE Examination***; OR
  2. Have obtained Grade E or above in one AL / two ASL subjects in the HKALE plus five passes in the HKCEE including Chinese Language and English Language, and preferably also in Mathematics and at least one science related subject; OR
  3. Have completed a QF Level 3 programme that is approved by the College; OR
  4. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  5. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Diploma and Professional Diploma Programmes

Professional Diploma in Property Management (Part-time mode)

To be eligible for admission to the Programme, applicants must satisfy one of the following admission requirements:

  • Having completed Secondary Five under HKCEE or Secondary Six under HKDSEE in Hong Kong with at least a Pass or Level 2 in Chinese Language respectively; and currently work in the property management industry at least 6 months in “Assistant” job grade; OR
  • Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with 5 years relevant working experience in Property Management; OR
  • Have completed relevant training courses at QF Level 3; OR
  • Holding an equivalent qualification


Admission Interview

  • Applicants must have passed the admission interview for successful application.
  • For applicants who cannot fulfill the Chinese language requirement as stated above, they are required to complete the Foundation of Chinese Communication course offered by the CBCC before the commencement of the Programme.

Diploma in General Studies (Full-time/Part-time mode)

  1. Have completed Secondary 6; OR
  2. Have passed in five subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the HKCEE; OR
  3. Have graduated from the Project Yi Jin; OR
  4. Have completed a QF Level 2 programme that is approved by the College; OR
  5. Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  6. Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Remarks***:
# 1. As specified in the letter of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) dated 12 July 2017, the maximum number of non-standard admission (including mature aged students) for local degree programmes is capped at the maximum of 5% of the actual number of Year 1 new students of the year. The cap is applied in line with the general expectation on self-financed degree-awarding institutions in safeguarding teaching and learning quality and thereby upholding the creditability and recognition of the qualifications.

*** 2. Mathematics extended module (M1/M2) could be considered as an independent course.

*** 3. "Attained" and "Attained with Distinction" in Applied Learning (ApL) subjects are considered to be equivalent to Level 2 and Level 3 in DSE subjects respectively. A maximum of 2 ApL subjects are allowed to be taken into account.

4. For Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students fulfilling the specified circumstances below, the Institute will accept Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade C in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese or a score of 4 in IB Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to degree programmes; and Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade D in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese or a score of 3 in IB Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to sub-degree programmes.

Remarks: For Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students fulfilling the specified circumstances below, the Institute will accept Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade C in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese or "Attained" and "Attained with Distinction" in Applied Learning Chinese [ApL(C)] or a score of 4 in IB Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to degree programmes; and Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade D in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese or "Attained" and "Attained with Distinction" in Applied Learning Chinese [ApL(C)] or a score of 3 in IB Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to sub-degree programmes.
The specified circumstances are:

  1. The student has learned Chinese Language for less than six years while receiving primary and secondary education.
  2. The student has learned Chinese Language for six years or more in schools, but has been taught an adapted and simpler Chinese Language curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in our local schools.
